Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a car alight on the A2 coastbound near Singlewell.
Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet and foam.
The road was temporarily closed whilst the scene was made safe and there were no reported injuries.
