Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a car alight on the A229 Blue Bell Hill, Maidstone.
Two fire engines attended the Chatham-bound carriageway and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported.
