Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fuel tanker fire on the M25, near junction 5, leading to the A21. 

Four fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used main jets to extinguish the flames, which were only contained to the front of the cab part of the vehicle. Crews worked hard to prevent the spread of fire to the tanker part of the vehicle. 

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
