Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a vehicle alight on the M2 London-bound, between Junction 6 for Faversham and Junction 5 for Sittingbourne.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
No injuries have been reported.
