Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a large vehicle alight down Maytham Road, Rolvenden Layne in Cranbrook.
Three fire engines and two off-road vehicles attended due to limited access to location. Crews located a digger well-alight and extinguished the flames using one main jet which was supplied by a light portable pump.
The cause is believed to have been accidental due to a faulty fuel supply and electrical fault. No injuries have been reported.
