Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a single car crash on the A256 at Eastry near Sandwich. Crews worked with other emergency services including SECAmb and Kent Police. Firefighters used rescue cutting gear to free the male driver from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Kent Police was called at around midnight on Friday 16 August 2019 after a silver Ford Fiesta collided with a roundabout. The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin has been informed.
