Maidstone
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called out to rescue an adult and two children stranded in a vehicle in 2ft of flood water, in Stickfast Lane, Sutton Valence near Maidstone. Three fire engines attended and crews in water rescue gear pushed the car out of the water and freed the people inside. There were no reported injuries.Following this incident, KFRS is urging motorists not to attempt to drive through flooded roads. Leanne McMahon, Group Manager for Community Safety said: "The water is often deeper than it looks and may be moving quite fast, resulting in you and your vehicle being at risk of being swept away or becoming stranded. There may also be hazards under the water you can’t see. Don't take the risk, it's best to find an alternative route."For more information about staying safe when roads are flooded, visit the KFRS website - https://www.kent.fire-uk.org/your-safety/flooding/
