Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a kitchen fire in a hotel in Strood, Rochester.
Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the small fire using hose reel jets.
The hotel was evacuated briefly whilst crews attended to the incident.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to be caused by a pan that caught alight on the hob.
It’s important to take care extra care in the kitchen and to keep cooking areas clean and clear of anything which could catch alight.
Remember not to leave cooking unattended, and make sure you switch it off if you have to leave the room.
