Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent four fire engines, a height vehicle and around 30 firefighters to the scene a fire involving the Windmill pub on Ratcliffe Highway. When crews arrived at the scene the pub had been safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries. Firefighters were faced with a fire involving the roof of the pub. Crews wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets and Fogspike tackled the blaze in the two storey building. They worked hard to contain the fire to the roof space. Red Cross Volunteers and KFRS' Volunteer Response Team were mobilised to help the occupants with emotional and welfare support. It's not clear at this stage how the fire started.
