Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a flat in Wood Street, Sheerness.
Four fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using hose reel jets, main jets and high pressured fans.
One person was passed into the care of SECAmb as a precaution, after experiencing symptoms of shock.
KFRS’ volunteer response team also attended to provide support to affected residents.
The cause is not yet known.
