Firefighters were sent to reports of a workshop approximately 5m by 12m containing vehicles and pressurised gas cylinders alight in Lindridge Lane, Staplehurst, near Tonbridge. Two fire engines were sent to investigate and it was quickly decided that two further fire engines and a bulk water carrier were required to deal with the blaze.Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using two main jets, a high-pressure hose reel jet and compressed air foam, designed to smother oil and chemical fires, rapidly reducing fire spread.Unfortunately, the workshop and its contents were destroyed by the flames, but there are no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
