Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in a bedroom on Dunes Road, Greatstone, New Romney.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.

The fire is believed to have started due to sunlight being refracted through a snow globe. Crews are urging the public to ensure that no objects that can refract light including glass and mirrors are left by windows.
