Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a lorry leaking fuel on the M20 London-bound, near to Junction 6 for Blue Bell Hill, Maidstone.

Three fire engines attended and crews helped to secure the leak, before making the scene safe. No injuries were reported.

The incident caused the section of motorway to be closed, with diversions put in place for motorists. 

People planning to use the affected route are advised to check for traffic updates for travelling.
