Update 1.10pmFire crews have successfully managed to stop a fire spreading to neighbouring homes in Tonbridge, due to their quick actions and firefighting tactics. The blaze in Tyne Road, is believed to have started accidentally in the loft space of the end-of-terraced home. The loft was almost destroyed and the roof damaged by fire but the house suffered minimal damage.A boy, thought to be around 16 years old is believed to have suffered minor burns and has been taken to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).Firefighters are still on the scene along with a KFRS volunteer.------------------Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire in the loft space of a house in Tyne Road, Tonbridge at around 10.40am. Firefighters were quickly on the scene to find thick, black smoke coming from the property.Three fire engines and a height vehicle were sent but the height vehicle has since been released. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets, two short extension ladders and a main jet to tackle the fire. Residents from neighbouring properties were asked to leave their homes initially due to the smoke but these have been checked by fire crews and reported as clear. A Red Cross Vehicle and KFRS' Volunteer Response Team have been requested to provide support for the residents.
