Firefighters are dealing with a fire in a storage compartment of a tug boat in dry docks at Chatham Docks. Fire used a themal imaging camera to identify the seat of fire within a contained compartment of the boat. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used cold-cutting fire-fighting equipment and compressed air foam to penetrate the compartment and extinguish the fire. Crews remain on the scene, along with a fire launch, cutting away and damping down remaining hotspots. There were no reported injures. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
