Update at 07:00 on 07/11/18:Fire crews remain on the scene damping down hotspots. The advice for residents to close windows and doors has been lifted, and the section of the A2 London Road that was closed, is now open.There are no reported injuries and a fire investigation will be carried out to establish how the fire started. ....................Update at 03:30 on 07/11/18:Firefighters have made good progress and prevented the fire spreading to surrounding buildings, due to rapid use of foam to protect neighbouring properties in the early stages of the incident. There are six fire engines and a height vehicle at the scene, and crews continue to tackle the blaze. Around 20 people were evacuated from their homes initially, and they have all now been allowed to return inside.While the smoke has eased, advice to keep windows and doors closed will remain in place until the morning.The A2 London Road is partially closed between the junctions of Station Road and Lynstead Lane, and is likely to remain closed for some hours, potentially impacting on morning rush hour. ...............................Firefighters are currently on the scene of a fire in a workshop on London Road in Teynham, Sittingbourne.
