Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in the bedroom of a Whitstable home on Northwood Road.
As firefighters arrived they found that everyone had evacuated the detached property safely, however one man in his late 20s needed treatment for mild smoke inhalation.
Firefighters used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze which was on the first floor.
The cause of the fire isn't known at this stage.
