Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at Hawkinge Health Centre in Canterbury Road, in Hawkinge, Folkestone. 

Two fire engines were sent to the scene, where crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish a fire in one of the clinical rooms. 

No injuries have been reported. 

The fire has caused extensive smoke damage to the premises, which will prevent the centre from opening until further notice.
