Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a commercial property in Motney Hill Road, Rainham. Four fire engines and a Technical Rescue team were sent to the scene. Cutting equipment was used to remove part of the roof of the building, while crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and a water hydrant to extinguish the flames. A high pressured fan was used to clear the area of smoke. No casualties were reported. It’s believed the fire started accidentally due to an electrical fault within an industrial machine.
