Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a property in Goldfinch, Faversham.

Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the flames in the bathroom using hose reel jets.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation. 

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and started by the improper disposal of a cigarette. 

Following the incident, firefighters are reminding people to ensure cigarettes, cigars and any other smoking materials are not left unattended and are fully stubbed out and cooled before being discarded.
