A kitchen fire in Faversham is believed to have started accidentally after a pan of cooking oil caught alight.

Three fire engines were sent to Horselees Road, where crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a fire on the hob using hose reel jets.

No injuries were reported.

It’s important to take care extra care in the kitchen and to keep cooking areas clean and clear of anything which could catch alight.

Remember not leave cooking unattended, and make sure you switch it off if you have to leave the room.
