Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of an oven alight at a domestic property on Alma Road in Sheerness. Two fire engines were sent to the scene and firefighters arrived to smoke issuing from the kitchen at the rear of the property. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and water from a hydrant to extinguish the blaze. All three occupants, who were outside on arrival, were passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance (SECAmb) paramedics as a precaution.
