Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Margate High Street, to reports of a fire in a flat. 

Three fire engines attended, and crews rescued a woman and provided medical support, before handing her into the care of SECAmb paramedics.  

Occupants of neighbouring flats were evacuated, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle the flames. High pressure fans were used to clear the property of smoke. 

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
