Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a roof fire above a flat in Cuthbert Road in Westgate.
Five fire engines, plus a height vehicle attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the flames using hose reel jets.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is believed to be accidental.
