Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving a washing machine fire in a property on Glebe Gardens, Margate.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and main jet to put out the fire.
A man was treated for burns and the effects of smoke inhalation by SECAmb paramedics.
