Crews are advising people living or travelling on Ramsgate Road near Port Richborough in Sandwich to avoid the area as crews take action to extinguish an industrial fire. Crews are advising people to close windows and doors if you are local to this area.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a industrial fire on Ramsgate Road, Sandwich.

Seven fire engines are currently in attendance as crews take action to extinguish the fire.

If you are travelling or planning to travel near Port Richborough down Ramsgate Road, in Sandwich, we are still advising you to avoid the area as crews extinguish an industrial unit fire.
Crews are making good progress, now with four fire engines in attendance. Crews are wearing breathing apparatus and are using foam and main jets to extinguish the fire.
