House fire in Gravesend

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is responding to reports of a fire in Rochester Road, Gravesend. KFRS' Emergency Control Centre was alerted to the blaze, shortly after 10pm and four fire engines were sent to the house. The cause of the fire is not yet known but firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze. Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service are also assisting KFRS at the scene. Everyone has been accounted for and a man has been handed into the care of the ambulance service. A dog and puppy were also rescued by fire crews and given oxygen therapy using special pet oxygen masks but sadly they did not survive. A woman from a neighbouring property was also given oxygen.The incident was reduced to three fire engines shortly at 11.16pm.
