Kent Fire and Rescue Service is reminding the public to take extra care with bonfires following a shed fire in Maidstone.Two fire engines were sent to the incident on Queens Road, and the shed was well alight on arrival. Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. The fire is believed to have spread from an out of control bonfire.Following the incident, firefighters are reminding everyone to take extra care when lighting bonfires. You should never leave them unattended, and light them well away from sheds, trees, rubbish, buildings and foliage. You should also keep it to a manageable size and evenly built, so that it collapses inwards as it burns.
